Add Fruits to Your Diet
Add Fruits to Your Diet
Hello Everyone, Hope you all are doing well.
I have been reading this blog for last 2-3 days, I haven’t read all articles but one thing I realize while jumping from one page to another on this blog that all of us here want to get fit and healthy, which is so good to know. But somehow, our enthusiasm keeps faltering. It’s mainly because our health comes on bottom of our “TO DO’s” list. Like our relationships our body also need love, affection, care, attention and most important time.
Here I want to talk about a way on how to start with this love and affection. I believe once in a while our body needs a break from regular food intake and nothing is better than “FRUITS” to switch over.
Fruits are healthy for us, we all know this but, when it comes to adding Fruits in our daily diet, it suddenly become a herculean task for us, because we start thinking of the efforts which needs to be put in. Like how can I carry fruits like papaya/Water Melon or others which require chopping before eating. Well well I say that we spend time sitting/gossiping in office so we can take a small break & go to the cafeteria to chop. You can even ask office boy to do this for you, sometimes not always .
When someone advices us to eat fruits regularly we think “mjhe kya jaroorat hai Fruits khane ki main toh bilkul theek thak hoon, fruits toh baache, old age ya bimar log khate hai jinko energy, protein vitamins chahiye hote hai. I say, “ fruits are for people who want to stay fit always”
Right time to have fruits
Now if you agree that fruits should be a part of our daily appetite then please read how and when to eat Fruits.
Fruits should be consumed on empty stomach. This is because when fruit is eaten, the digestive process works very quickly and our body uses different enzymes to digest the fruit. The simple sugars contained in fruit need time to be completely absorbed by your body. When fruits are eaten alone, your stomach can more easily process all of the nutrients, fibre and the simple sugars contained in the fruit.
If Fruits are consumed empty stomach, they help your body to detoxify and supply you great deal of energy to lose weight. Let’s say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so. In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil. So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals!
The best time to have fruit is either first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, or as a mid-morning snack (which I prefer) – in between breakfast and lunch.
Fruits seem to be a food that has been enjoyed from the earliest of times. Most of us like fruits because they are the easiest foods to eat. Fruits need no cooking or preparation and it can be made into salads, ice cream and juices. Fruits are sources of many essential nutrients that are under consumed, including potassium, dietary fiber, vitamin C, and folic acid. Most of the fruits contain iron which is essential for increasing haemoglobin, accommodates transfer of oxygen in the blood and helps boost immune system. They are rich in minerals and vitamins beneficial for maintaining physical as well as mental health. Fibre helps in reducing Cholesterol and type 2 Diabetes. Banana is a high source of potassium and it’s also Antidepressant. Potassium helps in maintaining Blood Pressure. Citrus Fruits like Orange and Lemon are source of Vitamin C. Lemon is cheap and easy remedy of weight loss and it’s available in all season.
An ages old statement, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” still holds true. Apple Rs 200 per kg means an apple cost Rs 35-40. It means around 1200 buck a month we can easily spend this much for our health. Having an Apple is much better than having Burger or Pizza or Cold drinks.
