East Mountain Sports

Hiya everyone,

East Mountain Sports

This Sunday, we went to a vegan food festival in new york city. I had reviewed the festival HERE on the food blog. The event was called The Seed. The event was at the new york city’s most amazing shopping district called SOHO. After the event we went to a sports brand called East Mountain Sports. Abhishek is a huge fan of this brand. He had so many stories to tell of the products of this brand that he used during trekking or hiking. I had always seen the showroom from the outside but never had the chance to visit. From outside it looked like a superb clothes and shoes sports brand. But I was so wrong. This brand is like a paradise for anyone who loves outdoors.

There were so many little, travel friendly, useful products that I cannot not even think of getting anywhere normally. Actually from our past camping and trekking experiences, we realized that there are so many things that we need to carry to become seasoned outdoor(ers).  We have done a very accessible outdoors till now. As in, we were close to the city or had people and amenities around. The max we got stuck was once when we lost directions in the forest in some village area of upstate new york. But it was a very small wandering and soon we were out into the city.

Now we are planning to go proper hiking with just nature around us. No restaurants to get our food packed or shops to buy water bottles or hotels to spend the night.

With this intent in minds, we went to the outdoor section of Eastern Mountain Sports. Boy! I went berserk. Such an amazing range of innovative products they have. We did not get anything as of now. As we thought that we will plan the whole activity and then get stuff accordingly.

I clicked picture of few products that I really liked

Aww, isnt that teeny weeny stove the cutest thing ever?? :) Though I am sure that’s not why it was made like that, but I cant help it, I find it cuuute! :) I am transported back to my childhood days where I played with Barbie’s kitchen set :P And this one isnt even a toy. Genius I tell u :P
I want to go camping only to be able to buy these stuff :P On a more serious note, my friend’s been telling me to join her on a trek to the himalayas. Rupin Pass. She’s an avid trekker. And the photos are something else. I am tempted to join her but I dont know if I can do it, they ask for fit people in particular (the requirement is to be able to run 5 km in 30 min, which I cant do) and I am also scared of trudging along with a backpack nearly half my weight..The last time I trekked with a backpack, I had to undergo physio after I returned :P
This became a loooooooong comment :P

Ramya I also said the same thing when I saw the stove.. when was last time you trekked? Was it way before you started working out? Ruin pass is awweeesome place. Especially if you have got a seasoned Comany.. don’t miss it.. even if you have to go for physio again
