Healthy Party Menu .. Abhishek’s birthday party

Heylos everyone,

Healthy Dinner Party

I organized a dinner party for Abhishek’s birthday today. Basically, I started the birthday celebrations at the Indian time yesterday. He is so happy with the fact that this year his birthday was celebrated on 2 days and that too in two countries. As back home, my in-laws did some food distribution in his name. Anyways, he is happily snoring now and I am writing this post :D

I made all the food on my own. I started the preparations at 8 am in the morning and I got free till.. Umm.. I guess.. till the party got over :P .

The party menu was

Mexican: Home made guacamole and whole wheat baked tortillas.
Thai : Brown rice and vegetables in coconut milk, cashew milk gravy.
Chinese: Chili Paneer (Cottage cheese made at home)
Indian : Baigan bharta
Breads : Coriander and mint parantha using multigrain flour.

Of these things only chili paneer had fried paneer in it. The thai curry had zero oil, baigan ka bharta had hardly two tbsp of oil and guacamole is one the healthiest raw dip. It is made of avocadoes, onion, tomato, cucumber and lemon juice.

I can say that the menu was healthy and homemade..Does it sound boring for a party? Ohh yea drinks (all kinds) and ice creams were also served :) Now is this menu so boring for a party? And I forgot to share that for drinks, I had the option of thandai and coconut water also for my guests, who did not want to indulge :) Basically, I was also one of them :D

???

Anyways, weekend is here again and we leave for our wanderings tomorrow morning. A new place, a new adventure.  Btw, while traveling, I stay active on instagram. May be we can catch up on instagram as well? :)

Sharing some pics from today.

Also, may be I never shared this with you but I love designing my jewelry and dresses. Mostly Indian dresses. I would love to share some of my designs with you. Today, I wore a blue deep back dress. I paired it with gold jewelry. My mom gifted me this gold choker. It has an amazingly intricate yet clearly visible design. It is a very very old inherited kinda neckpiece, which mom got from granny and granny got from her mom and so on. These days, we do not get to see such work in gold.

One of my cousin is a jewelry designer. He and I are somehow able to come up with good designs. We designed a quadrangle gold earrings with this choker. I loved the final piece, wore it today. How do you like it? :)

This is the first time that I managed the full party on my own. I was really scared in the morning. I was thinking whether everyone will like the food that I will cook or whether I will be able to manage to prepare what I wish to present. But guess, my little efforts for mine and my friends’ fitness worked :) .

Please share some of your Healthy party menus.

Love yaa
Nidhi

I just got back from a trip to Sakleshpur with friends.. We stayed at the most beautiful homestay with no mobile network :D It was like a much needed trip for all of us.. The breeze was so devoid of pollution :) And the food!! I just cannot get the taste of the fresh veggie curries. They have a different recipe for akki rotti and ragi rotti than the one we make in bangalore (their’s is oil free) and I have taken the recipe from the cook there. Wanna try it! :)

Nidhi, all the effort you put into the menu is truly showing. Desperately waiting for the guacamole recipe and your experience on bubble tea. Bubble tea stores are also popping up in India and becoming famous. Have yet to try one though

And you look gorgeous. And the choker is so pretty. The fact that it has been a part of many generations makes it so very special na. I also tend to wear jewellery my dad bought me on special occasions and the on the days I miss his presence.

You have a truly wonderful life partner. All the best Nidhi.
