I went for some healthy shopping yesterday. These are the things that I got

1. Hula Hoop

I have tried hula hoop once in my belly dance classes. A little girl taught me how to use it but I found it tough. It needs a lot of practice. So I thought of getting one for myself to practice at home. I have been planning to get a hula hoop esp from the time Ramya shared about her hula hoop workout. It costed me just 130 bucks. A fun belly workout in just 130 bucks. What a deal :)

2. Jumping Rope

I always keep a jumping rope with me. I lost my old one somewhere so I got the new one. I got this particularly to practice double unders. Double unders is a crossfit exercise. In double unders you have to loop the rope twice in one jump. Double under requires a lot of coordination and practice. It is a mind exercise. It requires quickness and coordination of the mind with the body. Practice is the only way to learn it. My practice begins today.. There were many fancy ropes. I picked up the lightest and cheapest rope. Cost me just Rs 59

I made this yesterday..I will make oats bar today and will share the recipe of both of them today

This pack costs just 100 bucks. And can last a month, for a single individual, who has it one time daily.

Oats are so simple and yummy food. It is basically a cereal which is grown for its seed. It has soluble fiber. Soluble fiber dissolves in water and forms a gel, which slows down digestion. This gel delays the emptying of stomach and makes us feel full. Slower stomach emptying  stabilizes blood sugar levels and have a beneficial effect on insulin sensitivity. Soluble fibers can also help lower LDL (“bad”) blood cholesterol by interfering with the absorption of dietary cholesterol.

Think of adding this natural fiber to your diet before thinking of adding various fiber ‘enriched’ nonsense to your diet. It can be had as veggetable upma or with milk. I will also share the oat bar recipe soon :) .. And and it costed me 75 bucks

5. Green Tea

It is a herbal tea, which has antioxidants. Now why do we need antioxidants? Antioxidants neutralize free radicals that are produced in our body by the toxins that come through food or environment. So the best time to have antioxidants is when the free radicals are high.  Going by this logic, it should be had atleast 2 hours after you have had your meal. When your food has gotten somewhat digested and the digestive system has left some free radicals behind..

If you still want to have it as first thing in the morning or last thing in the day then what can I say :| .. Also green tea or for that matter any herbal tea is no fat burner.. They are what their name say ‘Herbal’ teas. So they like any other herbs add some goodness to our bodies. Do not expect to have a green tea post samosa to burn away that samosa.

I have tried so many green teas, the most expensive ones too but I keep coming back to this desi Organic India’s green tea. It costs 150 bucks I guess. lasts more than 2 months for me.

So.. a healthy shopping for 515 bucks.. good body, good skin and good gut.. Only expensive or branded things do not make us look and feel great. Agree? Jaago grahak jaago :) )

    U bought the hoop!!!! Yaayyyy it’s fun! N I tried practising double unders but the rope at Gym is made of wire. After I whacked myself on the back, shoulders, n various other places with it I have kinda stopped attempting double unders :-| Nidhi I miss hoop now, Me n another girl at Gym used to compete with each other, she was amazing, could do over 200 while I was stuck at 150 :-( and Brown rice I too need to repurchase.. :-)

      I will start my mission from 5:30 PM.. just had something to eat.. 200 is too good. I tried in the morning, could not do 2 as of now :| . You got all the cramps by doing double unders?? surprised.. It is a super workout.

        Nai nai I meant I hit myself with the rope :-D bcoz I can’t do double unders. So just sticking to the regular skipping :-D

    That’s my fav green tea also :D :D Never liked anything else!!! You know I mix brown and white rice and eat :P Best of both worlds! My rope is thick and I have a hoop too :P but I hardly practice on it, you have motivate me now! Hooping mission starts aye :D
