Healthy Recipes/ Raw Food Recipes

Heylo,

I am on a quick, healthy, rawish, cooking spree these days. I was kind of bored with my normal khaana poha, upma etc.. So I thought of trying something different. I start my day early, cook new new things. All of these recipes take hardly 10 mins to get ready and they use colorful, seasonal fruits and vegetables.. How cool is that? :P

About Sports Injuries

Hi everyone,

This post is to share some information on sports/workout related injuries. Injuries occur mainly because of these reasons a) exercise form is incorrect b) the muscles are weak c) Over training. Injuries can be largely avoided by exercising with a correct form, by strengthening all the muscles equally and by taking rest.
Doing crores of crunches one day and crores of bicep curls the other day will definitely give muscle pain and can turn into strains. Okay I am not against crunches and bicep curls. But if you chose to do these isolated exercises then please don’t play favourites to just one exercise Why? .Let us find out in details

Add Fruits to Your Diet

Hello Everyone, Hope you all are doing well.

I have been reading this blog for last 2-3 days, I haven’t read all articles but one thing I realize while jumping from one page to another on this blog that all of us here want to get fit and healthy, which is so good to know. But somehow, our enthusiasm keeps faltering. It’s mainly because our health comes on bottom of our “TO DO’s” list. Like our relationships our body also need love, affection, care, attention and most important time.

Is it okay to Take a Break from Workout Once in a While?

This post is esp for Ramya and Shruti, both of them are cry babies at the moment, just because they could not workout from last couple of days. Shruti says that she feels like tearing her hair apart and ramya says that she is feeling so cranky. Both of them have a slight pain due to some muscle pull ups. Given their love(read obsession) for fitness, their reaction is normal to their conditions. But..

Shut up and Train

Shut up and Train

Last year when I met Deanne in Goa, she was working on this book. She use to share with me a lot of new things on fitness everyday. I use to think that how exciting will the book be.  So once, I told her that I have read your first book and I want to be the first person to read your second book. She laughed and told me that she will let me know much in advance. A few days back, I received a surprise gift from random house. I opened it excitedly to find out that the gift was my copy of Shut up and Train. The book is available for pre-order and will hit the stands on the 8th of Dec. But Deanne made the book available to me much in advance, as she promised. So I am actually the first person to read it :) )

My respect for Deanne has increased manifold after reading this book. This book has knowledge, that only a person, who is experienced in as well as passionate about fitness can impart. Deanne started her journey in fitness more than a decade back. She says that she was always an active kid and she always loved to follow a healthy lifestyle, which led her to the desire to follow her career in the field of exercise and fitness.

She started as a fitness writer in 1999. And in 2000, she started training Femina Miss India Contestants. From then on she has trained many bollywood celebrities. In the book, she has strongly emphasized on the importance of strength training. Moreover, she was the first one to use weight training for Miss Indian Contestant. Till then they were training using only cardio exercises.

Are you a Sprinter or Distance runner

Are you a Sprinter or Distance runner ?

Are you a Sprinter or Distance runner

You must have noticed that some people are good at sprinting and others are good at long distance running. Some lift heavy weights whereas some can only do higher repetitions of lesser weights. To sum it up, some have power whereas some have stamina. You ask me to sprint for 1 mins, I will start making faces but if you ask me to run for 1 hour, I will do it happily :D

Also have you ever noticed how a chicken do a sudden outrageous furrr furr furr, with its wings, only to fatigue down in few mins/secs. Whereas a goat can climb mountains, walking for hours.

Has stamina or strength something to do with the genetic composition of our muscles? Find out…
